2026 Camping Season Information

The 2026 camping season is approaching, and we’re pleased to share important information about campground operating dates, reservation timing, and new BC Parks camping fee changes that take effect this year.

📅 2026 Reservation Dates

All campgrounds use the BC Parks reservation system and follow the same province-wide booking schedule.

  • Reservations open on a rolling 3-month window based on your arrival date
  • New dates become available daily at 7:00 am Pacific Time
  • Bookings are available for select campsites in select parks. Visit the individual parks to see if there are options for reserving the site. If you cannot reserve the campsite online, then it is a FCFS (First Come First Serve) campground

Example: A campsite with an arrival date of July 15 becomes available to reserve on April 15 at 7:00 am PT.

💲 2026 BC Parks Camping Fee Changes

BC Parks is introducing new and updated camping fees for the 2026 season to support park operations, maintenance, and visitor services.

🇨🇦 Non-Resident (Out-of-Province) Camping Fee

  • A new $20 per visit non-resident fee applies to campers whose primary residence is outside British Columbia
  • This fee is added per visit, per reservation or on-site stay. It does not charge for each night of the stay.
  • BC residents are not subject to this additional fee so present your personal identification (drivers lisence, passport) to show you are exempt

🏞️ High-Use Campground Fee Adjustments

  • Camping fees are increasing at a limited number of high-use frontcountry and backcountry campgrounds
  • These increases vary by location
  • Many campgrounds will see no change to their base camping fees

Note that these high-use fee adjustments currently do not affect campgrounds we manage on campinbc.com

All applicable fees are calculated and displayed during the reservation process before booking is completed.

ℹ️ Planning Ahead for 2026

  • Popular summer dates and long weekends fill quickly
  • Be ready to book at 7:00 am PT when your reservation window opens
  • Confirm campground operating dates before finalizing travel plans
  • Follow all posted park rules, wildlife safety guidelines, and local restrictions

We look forward to welcoming campers for another great season in 2026. Planning ahead and understanding reservation timing and fees will help ensure a smooth and enjoyable visit.
